HOMESTEAD HAPPENINGS
Here's to a new year!
As we say farewell (and good riddance!) to 2020, it is with much excitement we look forward to the upcoming year. There is so much opportunity coming down the pike for Homestead Companies, and quite a few big projects to highlight in 2021...
Homestead Village Beavercreek will open for hard hat tours in January, with the project delivering its first move-ins in April. Homestead Village Broad Street is underway, with preleasing kicking off in March, and Homestead Village Miami Township is breaking ground in March, bringing our Homestead Village portfolio count to 4 properties and 480 units.
On the multi-family side, we have the Lusso project underway, with branding very close to being finalized. The team is also in due diligence on a development opportunity in Huber Heights for a 192-unit multi-family property, another great opportunity for growth and expansion of our footprint across Ohio.
On the student housing side of the business, we are excited about our new development project at the University of Kentucky; roughly 400 beds, targeting a 2022 clubhouse delivery and August 2023 move-in. Seamus, our new Director of HU Acquisitions & Dispositions, has hit the ground running; we've submitted LOI's on several deals, with an opportunity in College Station that looks very promising. This acquisition would expand our bed-count in this market by 1,000 beds, strengthening our foothold at Texas A&M, a market we expect to see continued enrollment and population growth.
2020 has not been without its challenges, but for Homestead Companies it has been a year of tremendous opportunity. We've brought on amazing talent, building out our construction, development, and acquisitions divisions, and strengthened our operations by coming together as one united team. The continued growth of our company means continued growth for our teams...and it's never been a better time to be a Homesteader! Cheers to continued success in 2021!
