In The News: Book of Lists
We made the list!
In less than three years, we have grown to be one of the top Development Firms in Columbus, OH. As we expand throughout the Midwest, we are ready and excited for continued growth. Shoutout to all of our team members who made us #7 on the list of Busiest Central Ohio Commercial Real Estate Developers in Columbus Business First.
Hello Indiana!
Homestead Companies is expanding its development into the state of Indiana. The Ohio-based developer has broken ground on a 168-unit multi-family apartment complex in northeast Fort Wayne, which will be called “Camden Park Apartments.” The community will feature one and two-bedroom apartment units, that will target young professionals and employees of the northeast Fort Wayne area. It’s Homestead’s first development project in Indiana.
“Fort Wayne has been a target city for us for quite some time,” said Matt Canterbury, president of development at Homestead Companies. “We know of the growth Fort Wayne has experienced, which is largely due to smart public investment and job creation, and we are excited to be a part of supporting that growth.”
Amenities at Camden Park Apartments will include a central clubhouse, community gathering space, pool, fitness center, and an exterior dog park. Camden Park Apartments will join Homestead Companies’ growing portfolio of multi-family apartment development projects, which are located in the state of Ohio.
In addition to Camden Park Apartments, Homestead Companies is also developing an activity senior 55+ living community in Fort Wayne, which is expected to break ground in mid-to-late 2022. In September Homestead will break ground on another multi-family project in Indianapolis.
As a fully integrated real estate company, Homestead Companies will develop, construct and manage all three Indiana properties.
Ben Franklin Kick-Off
The 2022 Ben Franklin kick-off has begun! Last year's winners, the team at Georgetown Apartments, threw a fiesta for the Homestead America team and Home Office Judges. This year's Ben Franklin Judging will take place June 15th - June 16th. Judges will be announced in the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing all of the hard work at your communities.
Homestead Companies Plants Trees
As a team, we planted 223 trees with One Tree Planted, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. Leading up to Earth Day last week, our on-site teams worked hard to sign leases and restore our landscape around the world. For every lease signed and engagement on our LinkedIn campaign, we planted 1 tree in a forest in need.
By acting on our core value of “grow it” (literally), we were able to aid in reforestation, create habitats for biodiversity, and make a positive impact. Not only did our partnership with One Tree Planted allow us to come together as a team to grow a forest, but it also encouraged positive growth as a company.

HU April Champ Chain Winner: Travis Hallman
Join us in congratulating our April "Kicker" Champ, the team member who was supercritical in helping overcome a major challenge our team faced this month: Travis Hallman, Maintenance Technician at SkyGarden in Charleston, South Carolina!
"It was a crazy month at SkyGarden! We had several major leaks at the property, and Travis showed extreme dedication, working through a really stressful and chaotic situation. Trave came in after hours, and stayed late without ever complaining, working to resolve the issue while juggling resident questions. He is a very consistent worker and deserves to be recognized for protecting the Homestead! He is an essential worker here at SkyGarden, and deserves the Champ Chain recognition ." - Team nomination by Joe Jurcak, Kaitlyn Griffin, Isabella Busk, and Jack Kerley
Travis, we are so grateful for your dedication to the property, and the way you stepped up as a leader helping our team through a major challenge.
